SAFETY MANUAL 2010
Prepared by: Larry Fielding Introduction ASAP - What is it? In 1995, ASAP (A Safety Awareness Program) was introduced with the goal of re-emphasizing the position of Safety Officer “to create awareness, through education and information, of the opportunities to provide a safer environment for kids and all participants of Little League Baseball”. This manual is offered as a tool to place some important information at manager's and coach's fingertips. So, please read it! All volunteers will have access to this manual and are expected to be familiar with safety requirements to keep our kids safe. All adult volunteers will complete thee annual Little League Volunteer Application. The Safety Officer will conduct a back ground check thru Choice Point. Coaches or their designee are responsible for walking the field to look for hazards (glass, holes, etc.) before each game. Equipment should be inspected with all damaged equipment destroyed and replaced. Let Equipment Coordinator Dave Etzwiler (235-1578) know about equipment needs.
